The 2025 JUNO Awards just dropped their nominees for one of the most exciting new categories:
South Asian Music Recording of the Year — and it’s packed with talent.

This isn’t just a nod to the culture — it’s a signal. South Asian sounds are getting the spotlight on Canada’s biggest music stage, and the diversity in this list proves it’s only getting started.

🏆 This Year’s Nominees Are:

• AP Dhillon – “The BrownPrint”
• Chani Nattan, Inderpal Moga & Jazzy B – “Coolin”
• Karan Aujla – “Tauba Tauba”
• Jonita Ghandi – “Love Like That”
• Arul – “Yanchan”

🌍 Why This Category Matters

This category isn’t just about awards — it’s about recognition. For years, South Asian artists in Canada have been dropping quality, building communities, and shaping genres. The JUNOs finally catching up is a win for the entire scene.
